The Journey Continues

It was a long journey from the Jumping Off Place to California. The pioneers of old took about six months to get there. The survivors of the Donner Party took longer, about 10 months.

The journey of a new musical takes even longer, but the journey continues. The World Premiere at Sacramento Theatre Company proved a powerful “jumping off point” for the show. Not only did the musical gain accolades (“Best Musical,” among many other awards from Broadway World.com), terrific reviews (“This is definitely a must-see!" from the Davis Enterprise and “The music is stunning!” from Sacramento News and Review), and raves from audience members (“Astonishing!” “Inspiring!” “Amazing!”), but it also was captured in beautiful photographs by Charr Crail and exciting video footage by George Alberts.

While Eric and Margaret have done some rewriting following the Sacramento production, they have also been busy, working with Orchestrators and Music Production Team Extraordinaire of Frank Galgano & Matt Castle, creating demo recordings of some of the key songs from the score. You can see & hear these demos here, or enjoy the latest release, “Waltz On The Prairie,” to the right or below. Look for a few more to come in the months ahead.

While you enjoy exploring the score of Meet Your Mountain, the perusal script is being reviewed and considered by several theaters and producers across the country. We don’t know yet where the next production will be, but look forward to every step on this journey.
